With New York's cross-nominations in mind, is there a viable conservative candidate running under another party line for the seat? That may be the best option for the Republicans if Grimm can't be replaced.

I thought living in the district is not a requirement in running for congress, just living in the state. Is that not correct? Or is it a state-by-state issue?

The Roll Call piece is not correct.  See my piece in New York's City & State http://www.stroock.com/SiteFiles/Pub1484.pdf

Roll Call: "Grimm will be on the general-election ballot unless one of three unlikely events takes place, according to a New York Republican source. He has already been designated by the state party as its nominee, so the only way he can be removed is by moving out of the district, running for a judgeship or being convicted before the general, the source said."
