[EL] comparing 2010 to 2014 for top-of-the-ticket offices for Dems and Reps

If one adds up the vote for the office at the top-of-the-ticket for each party, nationwide, one finds that the Republican vote between 2010 and 2014 declined 6.1%. The Democratic vote for the same offices declined 10.4%. The Libertarian vote increased 44.8%. The Green Party vote declined 20.2%.
"Top-of-the-ticket" is deemed to be Governor, if a state had a gubernatorial election. If not, then U.S. Senate. For the handful of states who had neither, it was the office actually at the top of the ballot. I include all 50 states and I also include Mayor of Washington, DC, because Mayor is most analogous to Governor for D.C. and D.C. is part of the U.S.A.
The votes are virtually final for all states except Ohio and New York. Richard Winger
