Printing Two Versions of Early Voting Ballot

That's one way to deal with late-cycle chaos. Elections officials have
stepped up and (at not insignificant cost)agreed to print two versions
of a ballot

When a county groupruns a forum
<http://www.theledger.com/article/20141014/NEWS/141019559>for candidates
whose districts split the county:

In 2012, when the Florida Legislature redrew boundaries for the
state's 27 congressional districts, Polk County was split among four
districts. Some members of the Polk delegation had inquired as to
why, citing that the county might be ignored.

Tuesday night's turnout might seem to give them proof.

Another column
<http://tbo.com/list/columns-jbrown/competitive-races-missing-in-florida-20141015/>notes
the lack of competition in Florida's races, which might also be why the
forums are emptier than expected. Still, if the situation in Florida is
anything like the situation in Ohio, these candidates willstill be
raising plenty of money
<http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local/2014/10/15/millions-raised-for-uncompetitive-U.S.-House-races.html>.

    Washington Times Tackles Strawman <http://electionlawblog.org/?p=66923>

Good for the Washington Times. They'veonce again proved
<http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/oct/14/editorial-voting-too-early-too-often/>that
those who say "there's absolutely no voter fraud" aren't telling the
truth. Never mind that no responsible observers are actually saying
"there's absolutely no voter fraud." (Whether proposed measures address
more prevalent or exceedingly rare kinds of fraud, and whether the
measures themselves create more problems than they solve -- now we've
got an actual discussion.)

This editorial
<http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/oct/14/editorial-voting-too-early-too-often/>is
about Connecticut State Rep. Christina Ayala, charged with 19 counts of
election crimes based onallegedly voting in districts
<http://www.ctpost.com/local/article/State-Rep-Christina-Ayala-arrested-5783544.php>where
she did not have valid legal residency for voting purposes at the time.
That sort of misconduct does indeed happen (thoughmisunderstandings
about voting residency
<http://summaryjudgments.lls.edu/2012/11/with-voting-there-no-place-like-home_525.html>also
lead to more claims than actual instances of misconduct).
