Thanks for informing of this very interesting development. I hope it isn't too nosy of me to ask who informed you that the filing had been made under seal...was it someone from the US Supreme Court clerk's office? or (less interesting, if true) just someone from Texas state government?

Subject: [EL] Note re Texas response at SCOTUS

Dear Members of the List:

As you know, the blog (and the listserv) attempts to keep up with
breaking news and developments, and is able to do so in part based
on tips. Also, as you know, the Supreme Court hasn't yet seen fit to make publicly accessible documents filed with the Court, which means that interested observers have to round them up elsewhere.

Earlier today, I received and posted an update on the Texas ID case,
with the State's filing at SCOTUS. After the posting, I was
belatedly informed that the filing had been made under seal.
Accordingly, as a courtesy, I've removed the post and the document
from ELB. I pass along to the list a request for the same courtesy,
to delete and disregard. I hope that doing so will further our
ability to continue bringing the most up-to-date information to the
    listserv.

Yours,

Justin
