There are many comments to make here, not least the ridiculousness
(outrageous-ness?) of the IRS taking 5 years to proactively approve a 501c4
(rather than to approve it at the outset -- as was common practice before
the Right made use of the 501c4s -- and question its validity later, should
evidence arise).
See, the IRS can neither *approve* Crossroads while the Left wants the
debating box all to itself, nor *deny* Crossroads for any legal reason that
wouldn't scare-off established Leftist allies already taking the form of a
501c4. *Hey, what's that odor? Ah, yes: Corruption ... or its appearance. *
But I cannot help making this largely tangential comment, contrary to a
statement made in the article by Bloomberg, a news outlet that is usually
better dialed-in than this: Neither Crossroads, nor the Tea Party, would
call Crossroads "a Tea Party group."
