At this year's APSA convention in San Francisco, the Law and Political Process Study Group panels will take place on Friday and Saturday. The traditional LPPSG dinner will occur Friday night.
The dinner will be at Sam's Grill and Seafood Restaurant<http://www.samsgrillsf.com/>, 874 Bush Street, at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4. It is a good, old, and old-fashioned restaurant that leans toward seafood, but not exclusively. (Those of you who know me know that when I say a place is good, old, and old-fashioned I am being redundant.) By California standards, the prices are moderate. We will have tables of six in an area that will be set off from the rest of the restaurant, so we will have a fair degree of privacy and an arrangement conducive to good conversation. Sam's is slightly over a half mile from the Hilton, so it is either a moderate walk (13 minutes according to Google Maps) or a short cab ride.
The dinner is for participants on our panels and friends of the group. The latter is broadly defined, so all of you are welcome and free to invite partners and friends. Please let me know in the next few days if you are likely to attend, so I can give the restaurant a decent estimate. I'll ask for a definite answer by around the beginning of the week of the convention. I look forward to seeing many of you at the panels and hope many of you will be able to attend the dinner.
Best,
