Politico:
<http://www.politico.com/story/2015/01/blue-billionaires-on-top-114151.html#ixzz3OWinsx00>

The 100 biggest donors of 2014 gave nearly $174 million to
Democrats, compared to more than $140 million to Republicans,
according to a POLITICO analysis of reports filed with the Federal
Election Commission and Internal Revenue Service….Of course, that
edge doesn’t take into account contributions to deep-pocketed
    non-profit groups thatdon’t disclose
    their<http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0811/60731.html>donors
    <http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0811/60731.html>. They heavily
favored Republicans, with reports showing conservative secret money
non-profits outspending liberal ones$127 million to $33 million
    <https://www.opensecrets.org/outsidespending/summ.php?cycle=2014&chrt=V&disp=O&type=U>.
While that’s just a fraction of the overall undisclosed money spent
in 2014, it’s indicative of a dramatic imbalance in a type of big
money spending that likely would close the gap between Democratic
and Republican top donors, if not put Republicans ahead.

“UPDATE: The best judges nursing homes can elect”

Following up onthis post <http://electionlawblog.org/?p=69587>, Arkansas
Onlinereports
<http://www.arktimes.com/ArkansasBlog/archives/2015/01/11/the-best-judges-nursing-homes-can-elect>:

So we know Morton has better than $100,000 invested in the campaigns
of four Supreme Court justices, a majority of the seven-member
court. We know, too, that Baker was an intermediary on a great deal
of this money, particularly in Wood’s campaign this year.

Does it make the judges guilty of anything? No. Does it present an
    overwhelming stench? You tell me….

UPDATE: I neglected to review the full picture. Make that FIVE of
the seven members of the Arkansas Supreme Court who have reason to
be thankful to the nursing home lobby for their campaign finance
    bankrolls.
