Here is a quick reminder about the election law discussion group at the
SEALS Conference in July. The session is scheduled for Thursday, July 30,
from 3:00-6:00. If you will be at SEALS please let me know, and please
join us!

Here is the program description:

"*Discussion Group: The Supreme Court and Election Law: Understanding the
New Redistricting, Voter Identification, and Judicial Campaign Finance
Cases*
This discussion group will explore the Supreme Court's role in regulating
the election process during the 2014 election. The group will cover the
Court's last-minute stays in cases from Ohio, North Carolina, Wisconsin,
and Texas, in which the Court stopped lower court decisions from going into
effect that would have altered the voting process for the 2014 midterm
elections. The discussion will also explore the two new redistricting cases
and the judicial campaign finance case the Court will decide during the
2014-15 Term, highlighting how those decisions may alter the electoral
landscape for years to come. Finally, the discussants will opine on how the
Court's election law doctrine might affect the 2016 presidential election
season.

Thanks,

Josh
