Will Jeb or Hillary Work Harder to Kill What’s Left of Campaign
Finance Law? <http://electionlawblog.org/?p=72417>

Inquiring minds want to know.
We are witnessing a startling devolution in the rules of the game that
remain after the Supreme Court gutted the core of campaign limitations.
On the Democratic side, there’s a difference between not engaging in
unilateral disarmament and in pushing the envelope to develop ever more
clever ways of circumventing what remains of campaign finance law.
Clinton, like Obama before her, is engaging in the latter.

Can Super PAC Which Avoids Express Advocacy Coordinate with
Presidential Campaign? <http://electionlawblog.org/?p=72403>

NYT:
<http://www.nytimes.com/politics/first-draft/2015/05/12/hillary-clinton-aligned-group-gets-closer-to-her-campaign/?smid=tw-share>
Correct the Record, a group started by David Brock, a staunch ally
of Hillary Rodham Clinton, is recreating itself as a stand-alone
“super PAC” that has the ability to coordinate with her campaign….
The new version of Correct the Record will be able to communicate
with federal campaigns and party committees, as it is not involved
with independent expenditures.
I’d like to hear more about the theory behind a group whose major
purpose is the election of a candidate for federal office being able to
skirt the coordination rules by avoiding express advocacy.
UPDATE: Here is the group’sexplanation
<http://correctrecord.org/correct-the-record-launches-as-new-pro-clinton-superpac/>:
“Correct The Record, though a SuperPac, will not be engaged in paid
media and thus will be allowed to coordinate with campaigns and Party
Committees.”
