Insofar as I was in Prof. Obama's Voting Rights and Election Law seminar
during my 2L year (1995-96), I'd certainly hope he qualified. (He wasn't
using a textbook at the time, but a rather thick packet of cases, law
review articles, and other assembled materials.)
