[EL] Ideas for the first day of class

So professor Fishkin you beg the question

 Why teach a course on Texas election law.  Just too depressing for a first year law student. 

Why not ask them to make a list of all election laws in Texas that have been found to violate 1973 section 5 or section 2 in the last 10 years. And then ask the students to answer the eternal question "why?"
