[EL] Vote fraud

Federalobserver.com is just republishing an investigative piece by a
computer programmer working with Black Box Voting .

The video on the link shows a demonstration of election fraud, where one
person, in 19 seconds of work pre-election, can utilize existing
capabilities within the GEMS tabulator plus a thumb drive to force a result
to conform to desired candidate percentages, and and then adjust all
precinct and summary reports to be internally consistent.  The video does
this by utilizing a GEMS feature that accepts fractional votes (but all
precinct and central reports there are rounded to the nearest vote by
default settings in GEMS) thereby altering results in a way that "adds up"
from the precinct level to overall summary reports. These summary reports
are then typically certified as official election results.

Moreover, one person can apparently remotely patch in to any GEMS system
used around the country and adjust results. The rigged elections are
produced in such a way that the results are inherently worthy of public
confidence, so long as the person rigging the election isn't too
implausibly aggressive in setting percentages.

It is worth watching, and it clearly demands consideration of its merits
rather than an attack on the type of satire or rhetoric used by a website
that is merely republishing a 24 minute video produced by an independent
nonprofit.
