[EL] Accepting the results of the election

An election outcome so close only a few hundred ballots in Florida triggered an automatic recount.  The litigation as I recall resulted from legal action in several counties in the state, of which 1-2 reached the Supreme Court.  The Court stopped the statewide recount. The Court reached a decision to allow the recount to proceed, but without sufficient time to finish.
