[EL] ... the only logical context

Former Attorney General Michael Mukasey pens an op-ed in today's *WSJ* as
opaquely and surgically as anyone can write. He shapes, there, the only
context -- the only logical frame -- for recent events.
The listserv is full of bright people, and I often suggest a piece can be
comprehended with a quick skim. This piece, however, should be slowly read.

The Left has devoted all of its resources, on every front, to the election
of H.R.C. It is fair to assume it has done so with the mission of
preserving the historic legacy of the current administration. If Mukasey is
right, the mission remains... while the means are reversed (or, at a
minimum, in flux).
If Mukasey is right, the Left now has its cake; fully baked and under
glass. It should expect little patience, from any quarter, for arguments it
now should be permitted to eat it, too.
All the best,

(I hope no one will suggest to me this post has nothing to do with
elections, law, or election law).
