[EL] reporter seeking expert opinion on campaign finance question

Is that (the airline miles; or any credit card cash rewards) an illegal 
kickback?

Should the donation amount reported to the FEC really include the 
processing fee taken by the credit card company, money that was never 
received/realized by the campaign?
