Subject: CLC Seeking Director of Trial Litigation
Friends,
CLC has posted a search for a new senior position in our litigation program — Director of Trial Litigation. The Director will be responsible for developing and managing CLC’s trial court strategy and litigation, and will represent CLC, allied groups and other parties in challenges to relevant federal, state and local laws. This attorney will also play a lead role in directing the implementation of CLC’s strategic vision and developing a plan to protect and strengthen our democracy through the courts. The ideal candidate will have at least eight years of post-JD experience, with litigation experience in voting rights or campaign finance reform preferred, but not required.
Please see the job description below, and on our website<http://www.campaignlegalcenter.org/about/jobs-internships>, and share widely with friends and colleagues. Thank you.
Trevor
Director of Trial Litigation
Washington, DC
Position Summary
CLC participates in a variety of trial and appellate court cases around the country involving campaign finance, voting rights and other aspects of election and ethics law, both to ensure the proper implementation of laws and to defend laws against legal challenges. CLC seeks to increase its impact in this field, especially through serving as trial and appellate counsel.
Reporting to the Vice President of Litigation and Strategy, and in close collaboration with the Director of Appellate Litigation and Program Advisor, the Director of Trial Litigation will be responsible for enabling and coordinating the development, implementation, management, and monitoring of CLC’s trial court strategy. The Director will work in close collaboration with Litigation team members and others across teams to direct the identification, review, approval, and management of trial court litigation. The Director will work in consultation with other members of the Litigation team on the refinement of litigation protocols—including developing and articulating a clear vision and goals, aligning trial and appellate strategies and tactics with organizational goals and those of other teams, managing detailed litigation plans, and engaging key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
