The Michigan ban on straight-ticket device was only enjoined. There is no constitutional decision yet. The case is in the evidence-gathering stage.
Also the Michigan House this year has passed a bill repealing the logo. Assuming the Senate also passes it and the Governor signs it, that will affect the lawsuit. With a logo in place, some voters think drawing a circle around the logo is a straight-ticket vote. If the logo is removed, that objection goes away.

Subject: [EL] Straight-ticket voting question
Hi, does anyone know if there are reliable studies indicating that racial minorities are more likely than whites to use straight-ticket voting? I know Michigan's ban on straight ticket voting was struck down last year as racially discriminatory, but that ruling seemed to turn on issues specific to the state. Is there evidence from beyond Michigan?
Thanks for any help.
