[EL] Cryptocurrencies and campaign finance

Greetings,

In case it had escaped your attention the FPPC will be meeting September 20 in Los Angeles.  On that agenda we expect to discuss how to regulate cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin.  We welcome useful comment both in writing and in person.

One key issue I see is whether to approach cryptocurrencies like cash (limited to $100) or an in kind contribution, like a contribution of a valuable asset.  One option could also be to prohibit their use altogether.

We welcome you observations!
