[EL] Gardner and Charles casebook, 2018 Supplement available

Dear Colleagues,

Guy Charles and I are pleased to announce that the 2018 Supplement to our casebook, Election Law in the American Political System (2d ed., Aspen 2018), is now available for use by adopting instructors.  The Supplement provides thorough coverage of recent Supreme Court decisions including Gill v. Whitford, Cooper v. Harris, Abbott v. Perez, Minnesota Voters Alliance v. Mansky, and Husted v. Philip Randolph Institute.  It also updates Second Edition coverage of developments in areas including post-Shelby racial discrimination by formerly covered states; indirect regulation of campaign speech by treating it as evidence of official intent (particularly in the context of Hawaii v. Trump); and the problem of Russian hacking now being addressed by the Special Counsel.
