Ross claimed the citizenship question was added to the #Census<https://twitter.com/hashtag/Census?src=hash> due to a DOJ request in December of 2017.

but here's Ross in MAY of 2017:

‘NH officials say college students don’t have standing to sue over election law”<http://electionlawblog.org/?p=100218>

Union Leader:<http://www.unionleader.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20180724/NEWS06/180729744/-1/mobile&template=mobileart>

Six college students listed as plaintiffs in a lawsuit that challenges the Senate Bill 3<http://gencourt.state.nh.us/bill_status/bill_status.aspx?lsr=0883&sy=2017&sortoption=&txtsessionyear=2017&txtbillnumber=sb3> election reform bill are legally able to vote in New Hampshire and lack the standing necessary to challenge the law, New Hampshire officials said in recent court filings.

The six produced proof of dormitory addresses, leases or New Hampshire driver licenses during the discovery process, when lawyers queried the opposing party about claims made in the lawsuit. Under the law, the documents are enough to prove residency for voting purposes.

In a statement posted on Facebook<https://www.facebook.com/DonLBlankenship/posts/2083086275096308>, Blankenship conceded that he does not expect the filing to be certified due to West Virginia’s “sore loser” law<https://sos.wv.gov/elections/forms/Documents/Running%20for%20Office/2018%20RFO%20FINAL%20DRAFT.pdf> that prohibits candidates that lost in a primary to run in the general election, but that he believes his name will be on the ballot in November.

“‘It looks kind of skeevy’: Illinois governor shamed by cash giveaway”<http://electionlawblog.org/?p=100212>
Posted on July 23, 2018 3:11 pm<http://electionlawblog.org/?p=100212> by Rick Hasen<http://electionlawblog.org/?author=3>

Politico:<https://www.politico.com/story/2018/07/23/illinois-governor-rauner-cash-giveaway-736244>

Gov. Bruce Rauner, who’s campaigning as an anti-corruption crusader, today found himself fending off attacks on his own ethics after attending an event where a political ally handed out $300,000 in cash.

The cash giveaway happened after the Republican governor spoke to a church on Chicago’s South Side on Sunday along with Willie Wilson, a onetime presidential candidate and 2019 challenger to Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

Both Rauner and Wilson, political allies, addressed the congregation with the governor stating: “We’re honored to help you pay your property taxes. Happy to do it.” It was a reference, his campaign later explained, to Rauner’s work with Wilson’s private foundation.

Wilson then stood inside the church holding stacks of cash and handed out bills to passersby.

Wilson told POLITICO that the money was from his foundation — and that $100,000 of it came from Rauner himself.

NC: “Lawmakers will return to write constitutional amendment ballot descriptions”<http://electionlawblog.org/?p=100210>
Posted on July 23, 2018 12:47 pm<http://electionlawblog.org/?p=100210> by Rick Hasen<http://electionlawblog.org/?author=3>

News & Observer:<https://www.newsobserver.com/news/politics-government/article215357305.html>

The state legislature will return to Raleigh on Tuesday to write short introductions to six constitutional amendments after a high-ranking House Republican voiced suspicions about a special three-member commission responsible for writing them.

The legislature “must prevent outside attempt to politicize what should be a quick and straightforward administrative process by the commission,” House Speaker Tim Moore said in a statement Monday announcing the special session.

The Republican-led legislature moved to put six constitutional amendments on the fall ballot, and some are controversial. For example, one proposed change would strip the governor of appointment powers, while another would require voters show photo ID when they go to the polls.

Two of the three members of the Constitutional Amendments Publication Commission are Democrats — Secretary of State Elaine Marshall and Attorney General Josh Stein. Legislative Services Officer Paul Coble rounds out the group.
