Rick Hasen and Bruce Cain have once again entrusted me with organizing the annual dinner for the Law and Political Process Study Group. (When will they ever learn?) The LPPSG panels at this year's APSA convention in Boston will be Friday, August 31, at midday and Saturday, September 1, early in the morning. Therefore, the dinner will be Friday night.
The dinner is for all members of the panels and all friends of the LPPSG. The main qualification for being a friend of the LPPSG is the willingness to eat dinner with us. All of you who can meet that admittedly onerous qualification will be most welcome.
I am not asking for commitments this early, but if you think it is more likely than not that you will be joining us, please let me know, so I can get a rough idea about how large the group will be. If you are likely to bring one or more guests, give me the total number for your party. When we get closer to the time, I'll ask for a definite answer.
The early meeting time Saturday morning argues for an early dinner, say 6:30. However, in the past some people have wanted the chance to drop in on a reception at 7, arguing for us meeting at 7:30. If you have a preference for a particular meeting time, please let me know. If there is a pronounced majority one way or the other, I'll try to accommodate.
I look forward to seeing many of you at the convention.
Best,
Daniel Lowenstein
