I just wanted to spread the news about a voting rights panel event that the
Civil Rights Committee of the New York City Bar Association has organized
for next week. See the announcement below for details.

The Civil Rights Committee of the New York City Bar Association will be
holding an exciting panel event on voting rights on May 10th from 6:30 to
8:30pm. The event, titled *"In Defense of Voting Rights: National and State
Efforts to Protect the Right to Vote,"* will focus on recent developments
in voting rights litigation, including discussion of cases pending before
the U.S. Supreme Court, and recent litigation and legislative proposals
aimed at combating vote dilution, voter registration purges, and partisan
gerrymandering in New York.
