It would have been different candidates and campaign strategies in many
districts had that not occurred. For instance, Ryan Costello may not have
retired (old PA-6), Scanlon and others would not have entered the PA-7-old
primary and superior Republicans might have run to replace Rep. Meehan,
etc.
We do know the results of the special elections in PA-7 and PA-15 (old),
but even there, campaigns would have deploted their resources differently
in the non-overlapping parts had that been the only race which mattered.
