I don't know if this was mentioned on the list-serv or blog (APSA conference has me behind on readings), but it appears that hundreds of thousands of people that were possibly denied voter registration services via AZ's state social services offices will be contacted per an agreement.
This is a state that has had agreements with the DOJ before on this issue (i.e., compliance with the NVRA) and this highlight the need for CONSTANT monitoring of state registration programs. This is a good lesson for those working on (semi-)automatic voter registration campaigns, too. Repeat after me "Monitoring is everything."
