Dear Colleagues:

For those of you who will be teaching election law this coming fall or spring, Jim Gardner and I want to let you know that the 2019 Supplement to Gardner/Charles, Election Law in the American Political System (2nd edition) is now available. The notable updates to the Supplement include a full treatment of the Court’s decision in Common Cause v. Rucho as well as a treatment of the Russian social media campaign and hacking operations.

Additionally, the Teacher’s Manual accompanying the Second Edition has also been thoroughly revised. It fully integrates advice and tips from the first edition of the Teacher’s Manual into a single, comprehensive guide and it has been updated to reflect our actual experience of teaching out of the Second Edition during the 2018-2019 academic year. If you’re interested in downloading the Teacher’s Manual, or learn more about the book, you can do so here<https://www.wklegaledu.com/gardner-election-law-2> (https://www.wklegaledu.com/gardner-election-law-2) . (Scroll to the bottom of the page to download the Teacher’s Manual).

If anyone has any questions about teaching from the casebook (or suggestions) please do not hesitate to contact either one of us (Jim, jgard at buffalo.edu<mailto:jgard at buffalo.edu>, Guy, charles at law.duke.edu<mailto:charles at law.duke.edu>). Thanks to Rick Hasen for generously allowing us to post this announcement. All the best,

Guy and Jim
