WaPo<https://beta.washingtonpost.com/technology/2019/09/04/us-officials-huddle-with-facebook-google-other-tech-giants-talk-about-election/>:

Federal law enforcement officials huddled with Facebook, Google, Microsoft and Twitter on Wednesday to discuss election security ahead of the 2020 presidential race, according to several U.S. and industry sources, amid heightened concerns that social-media sites are still vulnerable to the spread of disinformation online.
The meeting at Facebook’s headquarters in Silicon Valley included security officials from each of the four tech companies as well as representatives from the Department of Homeland Security, the Director of National Intelligence and the FBI, the sources said, requesting anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the meeting on record.

Rick Hasen is among the sharpest minds in the world of election law, and I find myself nodding in violent agreement with most of what he writes. That’s why I was surprised to read his recent Slate piece<https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2019/09/electoral-college-supreme-court-lessig-faithless-electors.html?via=homepage_taps_top>, in which he claims that litigation attempting to get the Supreme Court to answer the question of whether presidential electors are free to vote for whoever they choose is a mere “ploy” that could “backfire spectacularly.” I successfully represented the presidential electors in the Baca case<https://www.ca10.uscourts.gov/opinions/18/18-1173.pdf> in the Tenth Circuit, and I just don’t see it.

To understand why, it’s important to lay out the way presidential elections work today and how they could go awry
