We are moving the 2020 Election Science, Reform, and Administration
Conference online. The ESRA conference brings together academics, election
administrators, and practitioners to discuss election science research and
innovations in the United States and throughout the world.

Since some people may find they have more time to prepare a paper or travel
is less of a consideration than before, we are re-opening proposals
submissions to April 27th, 2020. Those who previously submitted a proposal
have been contacted to determine if they wish to continue with their
proposal.

You may submit your proposal here:

A few considerations.

First, we will give a priority to proposals from graduate students and
people in their early careers as primary authors because we feel that these
people are those whose careers are most stressed by the global shutdown and
are in most need of feedback on their research.

Second, to encourage quality presentations of fully-formed papers, we will
require presenters to upload their paper to a suitable online archive at
least one week before we schedule your virtual meeting, such as SSRN or
SocArXiv. Once your paper has been uploaded, we will schedule the virtual
meeting for your presentation. A discussant will be assigned to provide
comments to each paper, and we will further encourage the audience to read
and comment using Hypothesis, a free web-annotation tool.

Third, rather than attempt to hold a marathon conference in one or two
days, we will stagger the presentations over several weeks, with the plan
to run the conference from late June through early July. If your paper is
accepted, we will work with you to schedule a presentation time best for
you, understanding that many of us have unexpected demands on our time from
our children.

We hope that you will consider participating in this grand experiment to
hold an online conference, either by presenting or being an audience
member! We will post a schedule as the time approaches.

Please stay safe and healthy!
