[EL] Series on "The Election Reform Agenda: A Deep Dive into H.R. 1"

Stanford's Center for Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law, the
Center for Philanthropy and Civil Society, and the Stanford-MIT Healthy
Elections Project will be holding four web panel discussions in the coming
two weeks on H.R. 1.   They will all take place from 3-4:15 PM Eastern Time
(noon to 1:15 Pacific) on February 1 (election administration), 2 (voting
rights), 8 (gerrymandering), and 9 (campaign finance). You can register

Monday, Feb 1, 12:00 - 1:15 PM (PACIFIC): Election Administration


H.R. 1 creates federal standards for the administration of elections, eases
voter registration rules, expands ballot access through early and mail
voting, and strengthens voting system security.

H.R. 1 recommits to the protections of Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act,
restores felony voting rights, creates safeguards against purges of voting
rolls, and requires voter-verified paper ballots.

H.R. 1 bans partisan gerrymandering, establishes uniform rules for the
drawing of districts, and requires independent redistricting commissions
for congressional redistricting.
