[EL] Making it easier to vote does not threaten election integrity

Below is the link to a piece I wrote for the website "The Conversation."
There is a lot of commentary on state bills under consideration that could reduce access to voting. One general point that I don't see made directly, is that the oft-claimed tradeoff between the values of access and integrity in election policy is simply false; or, at least, the tradeoff is not that simple.
Of course, many policies that supporters claim will increase integrity will reduce access. But the reverse is often not true (unless one considers wild hypothetical proposals that aren't being made). For instance, there are policies to expand access that would improve security. For instance, consider voter registration: one of the best ways to "clean lists" is to expand registration opportunities. Odd that we don't hear the "integrity" advocates calling for that.
