From: Dave Rausch <JRausch@mail.wtamu.edu>
Subject: Pritt v. Republican National Committee, et al.

Those interested in First Amendment issues as they relate to negative
campaign advertising might want to check out Pritt v. Republican
National Committee, et al. Charlotte Pritt, a Democrat, is seeking
reversal of a circuit court's grant of summary judgment to the RNC, et
al. The RNC, and other Republican groups, ran negative advertising
against Ms. Pritt in the 1996 West Virginia gubernatorial campaign. She
lost to Cecil Underwood.

The West Virginia Supreme Court is posting the briefs in the case to its
website. The URL is:

http://www.state.wv.us/wvsca/media2.htm

If you need additional background on the campaign, I have published a
number of articles and book chapters on the 1996 campaign.

Thanks.

(one by Robert Bauer, one by me, and one by Senator Mitch
McConnell) on the Colorado Republican II case.
