Subject: Ohio Redistricting Software
I thought I would pass this on as a possible class project for students (for
those of you who teach). The Ohio Secretary of State is maintaining a
website where the general public can download software and data to
redistrict Ohio. (http://www.ohioremap2001.org/
<http://www.ohioremap2001.org/> ). The public can submit their maps for
consideration. "Is one of those plans going to be adopted? Not necessarily.
But part of a plan could be," Senate President Finan (R) said. AP 8-09-01.
(Read: My map assigned census block 120965 to district 4, and so does the
approved map.)

According to a report in this morning's BNA Money and Politics reporter,
plaintiffs challenging the Albuquerque law imposing campaign expenditure
limits have filed an emergency appeal with the 10th circuit.
