I don't know of articles, but I believe that Louisiana has a parish in the
southern part of the state (I think it's St. Martin Parish) that consists of
two non-contiguous pieces separated not by a body of water but by another
parish. I don't know the history behind this, but perhaps there are some
Louisiana scholars who would.

Subject: non-contiguous districts
Greetings all --
Does anyone know of any articles (or books or web sites or whatever)
that discuss the idea of *non*-contiguous electoral districts?
Thanks,
