This story fell through the cracks a couple of weeks ago, but the Bush
Administration will release the adjusted census numbers.

Oregon may do another state legislative redistricting as a consequence.
David Lublin floated the idea to me that perhaps Texas will do another
congressional redistricting now that the Republicans have unified control of
the state government. I guess for that matter, Democrats could do the same
in Illinois. I can already imagine the politics - Republicans seek to undo
the incumbency protection plan adopted by the Federal court for Texas, and
in payback Democrats collapse Speaker Hastert's district. Both states'
constitutions preclude a state legislative redistricting until the next
census.
