The 9th circuit held a hearing this morning in Arizona
Libertarian Party v Pima Co. Bd. of Supervisors. The
issue is whether a party may exclude independents from
voting in its primary. Arizona state law says
independents may vote in the primary of any party they
wish. The state law doesn't give the parties any
autonomy on that. Arizona primary ballots let voters
vote for party office (precinct committeemen) as well
as nominees for public office. If anyone wants to
hear a description of the hearing, let me know (I attended).
