A month ago, the Green Party's state legislator in New
Jersey was defeated for re-election. Polls had shown
him in a virtual 3-way tie, but he only got 11%. I
believe one reason he did so badly is the ballot
format. Bergen County November 4, 2003 ballots
printed "Republican" and "Democratic" in letters
slightly larger than one-quarter of an inch high. But
the word "Green" was printed in type smaller than
one-sixteenth of an inch high. Furthermore, the
placement was in a less conspicuous place on the
ballot.

If anyone wishes to see what this ballot looked like,
let me know and I'll send a copy. Be sure to tell me
your postal mailing address.
