ACS's DC Lawyer Chapter presents a luncheon program, "McConnell v. FEC
and The Future of American Campaign Finance Law," Thursday, December 18,
2003 12 p.m. at Arnold & Porter, 555 Twelfth Street, NW. Cost: $15 per
person includes lunch (payable in cash or by check made out to ACS at
the door). RSVP via e-mail to events@acslaw.org. Please indicate the

(202) 393-6181.

The panel will feature Robert F. Bauer, Office Managing Partner and
Chair, Political Law Group, Perkins Coie, and counsel for DSCC & DCCC;
Laurence Gold, Associate General Counsel, AFL-CIO, and counsel in
McConnell v. FEC; Randolph D. Moss, Partner, Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering
and a senior member of the legal team representing the congressional
sponsors in McConnell v. FEC; and Sheila O'Connell, Senior Policy
Advisor, EMILY's List. Professor Spencer Overton, George Washington
University Law School, will moderate.

The American Constitution Society is a national organization of
lawyers, law students, academics, judges, policymakers and advocates
committed to restoring the values of human dignity, individual rights
and liberties, equality, and access to justice to their rightful,
central place in American law.

ACS is leading a rapidly growing movement to counter today's dominant
right wing vision of American law and public policy - a narrow,
conservative approach that fails to take into account the impact of law
and policy on people's lives, and threatens to undermine the fundamental
principles of American democracy. ACS has law student chapters at
nearly 90 law school campuses nationwide and lawyer chapters in several
major cities across America.
