Here is my
L.A. Times oped on the Republican attack on the left-leaning
527s.
The New York Times offers this
report.
An excerpt: "About 455 people have raised at least $100,000 each for
Mr. Bush — they are assigned a tracking number so the campaign can keep
count — and many more have collected smaller amounts. Among the
president's fund-raisers are chief executives at Verizon
Communications, FedEx Corporation, Pfizer Inc., Waste Management Inc.
and other large companies."
Philip Gailey writes this
oped in the St. Petersburg Times.
It begins: "Well, what do you know. Soft money is back, and it's making
hypocrites of all those Democrats who fervently championed the
McCain-Feingold campaign reform law, not to mention those Republicans
who objected to the law's restrictions on issue advocacy."
The Chicago Tribune offers this
very important report.
