NYTimes, about two weeks ago, had front-pager that SwiftBoat group had raised $6.7 --but it noted only a number of large contributions that totalled just over $1 million.
One of our Listserve people sent word, in reply to my posting asking whether anyone knew anything further about the group's contributors, that they'd filed info with FEC.  So, we found
their FEC Form 9, from which we pulled together the below info.
Questions:  1) Why did they file at FEC?  By no means implying they shouldn't, but simply Why?  I've spoken with several gurus who can only speculate about the answer.
                      2) Why do you suppose they haven't put out press release giving average contrib size, number of contributors, and info re number of contributors under, say $100 or $200 ...?           r

Note:  The above is put together from the filed list of individuals, which includes--
--two different family members who shared the same address, both contributing. Each of these is counted in the table as a separate individual.
--for at least two entries, we find the same name but different addresses (e.g., same name, same town but using PO box; or very unusual name with different towns). These also are counted as different people since we had no way of confirming whether each entry was in fact only one person.
