<x-flowed>The court denied cert in the Baum case today.  It also denied cert in the Albuquerque campaign finance case and summarily affirmed the New York redistricting case.  More links on the blog and in news of the day coming soon.

Today, Wednesday, Nov. 24, the US Supreme Court had
Terry Baum v San Francisco Superior Court on its
conference (04-416).  This is the case over whether
voters who cast a write-in vote must check the box
next to the write-in name they have just written in,
in order for that write-in vote to count.

Obviously this case is of greater interest than it
would have been, because of the San Diego mayoral
election situation.
