On November 2, Democratic nominees for US Senate won
51.04% of the total vote cast for all candidates for
US Senate.  However, Democrats only won 41.2% of the
seats (14 of the 34).

(The 51.04% figure includes the vote cast for the
Democratic nominee in New York on the Working Families
and Independence Party lines.  The Republican nominee
in New York was not nominated by any other party)

The biggest minor party total in the US Senate races
was .89% for Libertarians.
