<x-flowed>The Oregon Family Council has been extraordinarily successful at pushing the false belief that their initiative arose solely out of the actions of the Multnomah County Commission. However, before the Commission acted in March, they had already filed four anti-gay marriage petitions, #'s 146, 147, 148, & 149. In Oregon, sponsors typically file several petitions with minor language differences to shop for the best ballot title. They quietly pulled these petitions on March 2nd, filing them again and falsely claiming that they would never have thought of doing such a thing if not for the County. It's just another discredit to the sloppy reporting of state journalists that they were able to successfully promote this lie about their actions and motivations.
