Those interested in the D.C. statehood question might take a look at Eugene Volokh's interesting post here:

I wonder if Eugene would accept a friendly amendment:  Group the D.C. voters' votes for U.S. Senate with (Republican leaning) Virginia rather than (Democratic leaning) Maryland.
