I have uploaded a copy of the brief here.
This is the brief that puts forward the argument against the
constitutionality of mid-decade redistrictings.
Steven Sholk has written this
analysis for the New Jersey Law Journal (paid subscription
required).
Eliza Newlin Carney offers this Rules of the Game
column for National Journal (free access) on the recent
recess appointments at the FEC.
The Washington Post offers this
report. UPDATE: See also this
commentary by Jan Baran in the Washington Post (thanks to
Allison Hayward for the pointer).
The New York Times lists
voting rights as one of the main areas for Senate Judiciary Committee
inquiry as the Alito hearings begin. I certainly hope so.
One hopeful sign: Democrats have listed
Sam Issacharoff as one of their witnesses at the hearing. Meanwhile,
Scott Turow suggests
on the NY Times oped page that Judge Alito be questioned about Bush
v. Gore.
