Governor Rick Perry of Texas today said that he won't
call a special election for the empty DeLay seat
(except there will be one in November, when the
special election will only fill the vacant seat for 2
months while congress won't even be sitting,
probably).

To me, this seems foolish of the Governor, since I
would have thought the special election would have
chosen a Republican.  So Republicans will have one
fewer seat for the next 7 months.
