Today, a US District Court in Mississippi denied the
Mississippi Democratic Party's request for injunctive
relief.  The party wants to exclude non-Democrats from
voting in its June 2006 congressional primary. 
Mississippi does not have registration by party.  I
haven't seen the judge's order, but I presume he
talked about the difficulty of giving the party the
relief it requested at such short notice, since it is
not obvious how to implement it when there is no
registration by party.
