I agree with Brad. State legislators have frequently
eased the ballot access laws to help minor parties and
independents, even though one might think state
legislators would not do this because of a selfish
desire to block more competition. Generally, if a
group of minor parties work together, and
systematically communicate with state legislators,
over a period of time that can be as long as 5 years,
they usually get the results they were seeking.
Sometimes minor parties don't put out the effort to do
this, because they are too cynical to believe they
have any chance.
