Should any of you have any expertise on the history and/or fate of the Criminal Appeals Act, under which the Supreme Court had (has?) appellate jurisdiction over questions of statutory interpretation raised in federal criminal cases, and want to share your expertise, please feel free to write me off list.

I was rereading the Auto Workers decision from 1957, and observed that this Act was the basis for jurisdiction in that case.
