On May 24 I posted that I had just attended training
for poll workers in San Francisco, and that we had
been instructed not to tell independent voters that
they may choose a Republican, Democratic or Amer.
Indp. Party primary ballot. We could answer any
question truthfully, but we could not volunteer the
information.

Today I talked to a poll worker who attended training
in Yolo County on June 1, and she told me that her
teachers had also given this instruction. I am
posting this because after my first post, some people
thought San Francisco was somehow unique.
