Wary of vote reformA NUMBER OF PEOPLE across the country, state and in the California Legislature do not like the Electoral College and would like to replace it with a popular vote for president. Had they been successful before the 2000 election, Al Gore would have been elected. He received more popular votes than George Bush but came up short in electoral votes.
