I understand that the U.S. House of Representatives Rules Committee reported an open rule yesterday providing for the consideration of H.R. 5672-Science,  State, Justice, & Commerce (SSJC) FY07 Appropria tions bill.  Floor action on this rule is possible today.
 
This rule also contains language  tabling the rule reported by the Rules Committee on June 20th  providing for the consideration of H.R. 9,  the Voting Rights Act Reauthorization legislation.  The GOP leadership has not  rescheduled another Rules Committee meeting to consider a new VRA rule.
 
The House goes on recess  Friday and returns July 9.
